Triple H

No matter your preferred wrestling company, things are certainly going to get very interesting now that Vince McMahon has retired from WWE, and Triple H has been named as head of creative.

Where once WWE was simply ‘land of the giants’, with Triple H in charge we could see all manner of talent come through WWE’s doors, and according to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, Hunter is ‘expected’ to be intense when trying to sign talent, especially where AEW could be concerned:

“A key aspect is if that dynamic changes. Exactly how this change affects AEW is another of the biggest questions going forward. What was thought to be the most important news story of the next few years, if AEW is able to secure a stronger paying television deal that guarantees its profitability and ability to bid for more top stars, was usurped by McMahon’s leaving. Levesque will clearly be intense in bidding for top AEW talent when their deals expire. Conversely, Tony Khan would be the same. The top talent will benefit from this. But unless AEW secures a better paying television deal, they would be far more limited in this free agent market without risking major losses. Levesque will not have that issue,” wrote Meltzer.

In the last 18 months, AEW have brought in numerous ex-WWE and NXT talents, including several ‘Triple H guys’ due to a perceived lack of opportunity under Vince McMahon.
