The Men's Royal Rumble match ended with Drew McIntyre cementing himself as one of the top stars in WWE. The Scottish Psychopath will now go on to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36.

The 2020 Rumble itself was considered one of the best of all time, with many in the wrestling world adding it to their top five lists. The match was praised for its uniqueness whereby Lesnar devoured the first 13 Superstars he faced before it transitioned into a traditional Rumble match.

According to Dave Meltzer, we can all thank Shane McMahon for how the Rumble turned out.

Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

that Shane, Jamie Noble, Abyss and Lance Storm helped put together the Men's match this year. They worked with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar to construct the first half of the match and Vince McMahon was heavily involved in building the finishing sequence.

WWE Superstar Mickie James was also surprisingly involved in putting the Women's Royal Rumble match together. The former Women's Champion injured her ACL back in June and required reconstructive surgery, but she has evidently kept herself busy working backstage. She worked with Michael Hayes, Tyson Kidd, Adam Pearce and Triple H to construct the match.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "The men’s Rumble was put together by Shane McMahon, James Gibson (Noble), Chris Park (Abyss) and Lance Evers (Storm) with input by Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar regarding the early part of the match. Vince McMahon was heavily involved in the finishing sequence and not only made the final call on McIntyre winning, but also the sequence and his eliminating Reigns last.

"The women’s Rumble was put together by Michael Seitz (Hayes), T.J. Wilson (Tyson Kidd), Adam Pearce, Mickie James and Paul Levesque had input the day of the show to help out and made it flow better."
