Report: Ronda Rousey Asked WWE To Bring In Brian Kendrick For Survivor Series WarGames
Ronda Rousey wanted Brian Kendrick back for WWE Survivor Series WarGames
Nov 30, 2022
Why WWE brought back Brian Kendrick for Survivor Series WarGames on Saturday, November 26 has been revealed.
Kendrick had been out of WWE since early 2022 but he was back working for the company at Saturday's pay-per-view, producing Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi for the SmackDown Women's Championship with Jason Jordan.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Kendrick was brought in for the show because Ronda Rousey asked for him. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion originally trained Rousey in professional wrestling.
"What happened was, Ronda Rousey -- Brian Kendrick was Ronda Rousey's original wrestling trainer...She asked for him to be brought in for her match with Shotzi. So he was in on Saturday. And it was not a hire. You could say it was a tryout, I wouldn't say it wasn't a tryout, but it really wasn't like a normal tryout. It was more Ronda Rousey asked for him to help produce. Jason Jordan also produced it, but she asked for Brian to be brought in, so they brought him in," Meltzer said.
If WWE will bring in Kendrick for future shows remains to be seen. He wasn't backstage at the post-Survivor Series episode of Raw but he could be at SmackDown if his WWE status is reliant on Ronda Rousey.
Kendrick has worked for WWE over multiple runs since 2002, with his most recent stint as a producer/coach in NXT coming to an end earlier this year after he was granted his release. Kendrick was then set to debut in AEW against Jon Moxley but the match was scrapped after offensive remarks made by Kendrick in 2011 and 2013 came to light.
Amongst his conspiracy theories, Kendrick claimed the Sandy Hook shooting was faked, that WW2 concentration camps were for delousing, and that the Holocaust was overblown to justify the creation of Israel. Kendrick apologised for his comments after his AEW debut was scrapped.
