Report: Roman Reigns' Next WWE Rival Revealed
Who will stand up to The Big Dog...
Nov 6, 2020
After capturing the Universal Championship at Payback, Roman Reigns was locked in a two-month-long feud with his cousin Jey Uso. The storyline dominated Friday Night SmackDown and resulted in two widely praised matches at Clash Of Champions and Hell In A Cell.
The feud came to an end on last week's SmackDown, though, as Jey recognised Roman as the Tribal Chief and aligned himself with his cousin. Uso then proceeded to follow The Big Dog's orders and beat down Daniel Bryan for several minutes, leaving the former world champion with a storyline bruised kidney and "multiple strains and contusions throughout his thoracic and lumbar spine."
Uso's vicious attack on Bryan at the behest of Reigns will reportedly lead to the next Universal Championship rivalry on SmackDown. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Big Dog is scheduled to feud with Daniel Bryan following his Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion match at Survivor Series.
This will be the first time Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns have feuded since Fastlane 2015. The two Superstars looked set to go one on one in the Summer of 2019 during the mystery attacker angle but they ultimately joined forces against Erick Rowan and Luke Harper instead.
