Report: Recent WWE Firing Due To Incident With Vince McMahon
WWE Chairman Furious At Alleged Inappropriate Conduct...
Jun 1, 2020
As previously reported, top WWE SmackDown writer Christopher DeJoseph was let go from the company on Friday.
The firing of DeJoseph, who was in his second spell with WWE and had recently received a promotion, was not related to the cutbacks made due to the fallout of Covid-19.
According to SEScoops, the firing was in face the result of 'inappropriate conduct and remarks' that DeJoseph had made during a backstage meeting.
While the exact nature of the comments is not known at this time, they were said to have angered WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who made the decision to sack the writer.
Per the report, McMahon was said to be 'irate' at what he perceived to be 'highly unprofessional' behaviour.
DeJoseph was co-lead writer on SmackDown (along with Edward Koskey) and worked closely with Executive Director Bruce Prichard.
The report also stated that while the incident in the meeting directly led to DeJoseph's firing, he had been struggling to keep pace with WWE's notoriously gruelling work schedule.
DeJoseph has yet to comment.
