The Revival

On last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced The Miz & John Morrison will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championships inside the Elimination Chamber against The Usos, The New Day, Lucha House Party, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, and Heavy Machinery.

One team notable by their absence was The Revival. Being former Tag Team Champions, many would expect them to be included in the match, but their recent trademark binge has seemingly had negative repercussions inside WWE if Dave Meltzer is to be believed. He reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that The Top Guys were considered for the match, but the company ultimately decided to replace them with Lucha House Party.

Meltzer said: "They’re replacing The Revival (Lucha House Party). They’re not going to reward them. On The Revival thing, The Revival went to trademark a whole bunch of stuff and now WWE is trying to trademark a whole bunch of stuff too."

Dawson and Wilder seem to be on their way out of WWE when their contracts expire in April and May 2020. Both recently rejected contracts of close to $1 million per year, as they feel the company hasn’t made the tag team division a focus, which WWE promised to do back in April 2019 when they were first offered new deals.  They also recently requested their releases from the company back in January.
