Nov 24, 2020
WWE will return to pay-per-view for the final time in 2020 on December 20 for TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. The show will be the first major WWE event broadcast from the ThunderDome's new home at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The company kicked off the build to the pay-per-view on last night's edition of Monday Night Raw. Six Superstars faced off in singles matches to advance to next week's Triple Threat Match to determine the number one contender for the WWE Title. Keith Lee, AJ Styles and Riddle won their respective matches against Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton and Sheamus and they will clash in the Triple Threat.
According to Dave Meltzer, none of the three men will face Drew McIntyre at TLC. The Scottish Psychopath is reportedly scheduled to defend the WWE Championship against Braun Strowman in the main event of the pay-per-view.
Strowman was involved in the opening segment on Raw where members of the Survivor Series team pleaded their case for a WWE Title match. The Monster wasn't involved in the aforementioned singles matches, though, as he took offence to being picked last to plead his case and took out his frustration by attacking Adam Pearce. The former Universal Champion was subsequently escorted from the building.
