WWE's upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view looked to be at risk this week following a Wall Street Journal report that revealed Saudi Arabia had shared intelligence with the United States about a possible imminent attack from Iran. Saudi Arabia, the United States and their allies have raised their alert levels as a result.
In an update, the Associated Press reported an official revealed there is a credible threat of an attack within Saudi Arabia "soon or within 48 hours." No US embassies or consulates in the region have issued an alert to Americans in Saudi Arabia, though.
WWE are still currently planning to run the Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Saturday, November 5, with reports noting that the company already have security protocols and emergency plans in place. PWInsider have since noted that WWE are in regular contact with the US State Department and the company have been told any attack from Iran would be nowhere near Riyadh, where Crown Jewel will be held.
Iran has denied they are planning an attack on Saudi Arabia, issuing the following statement: "Western and Zionist regimes spread biased news aimed at creating a negative mood towards the Islamic Republic of Iran and destroying the current positive trends with regional countries."
