Since AEW: Dynamite debuted in October, The Wednesday Nights Wars have featured prominently in the world of professional wrestling. However, the latest wrestling war will take a backseat in the coming weeks as both AEW and WWE try to cope with the coronavirus pandemic. This has particularly affected NXT as the black and gold brand will air from the WWE Performance Center for the foreseeable future and NXT TakeOver: Tampa has been cancelled, leaving Superstars without a major event to build to.

With NXT somewhat in limbo, major changes have been made to tonight's episode. Previously, viewers would be able to watch five or six matches on the show, with promos and backstage segments being sprinkled in throughout the broadcast. However, Mike Johnson at PWInsider has reported that no live matches will take place tonight and WWE will instead fill air time with "in-depth character profiles" and backstage interviews.

In a statement released to PWInsider, WWE wrote: "Tomorrow night's NXT will air as regularly scheduled in a modified format with elements ranging from in-depth character profiles and story breakdowns as well as never-before-seen interviews and content."
