WWE's cuts continued yesterday and Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Murphy, Lana, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett were all released by the company.

Out of all of the releases, Ruby Riott's firing affected the WWE roster the most, according to Fightful Select. Riott was "universally popular" in the back and she often received praise for her hard work.

The same was said about Murphy. Seth Rollins' former disciple was let go after disappearing from Friday Night SmackDown again and he reportedly was not in the "creative forecast for WWE" at the moment. Roster members also noted Murphy was easy to work with and was receptive to WWE creative.

Murphy first signed with WWE back in 2013. He was soon placed in a tag team with Wesley Blake in NXT and they held the NXT Tag Team Championship for 219 days in 2015. They continued to team together until 2016, but Murphy then made his way to the main roster and went on to become a former Cruiserweight Champion and Raw Tag Team Champion.

Ruby Riott joined WWE in 2016 and after a successful run in NXT, she headed to the main roster with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan as the Riott Squad.
