Along with a greater emphasis on recruiting college athletes instead of independent wrestlers, WWE have introduced a new doctrine for their developmental talents.

Instead of talents spending several years at the Performance Center, WWE SVP James Kimball revealed the company now evaluate developmental wrestlers every six months and if they are not ready for NXT TV after two years, they will be released.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the new doctrine doesn't just apply to the company's newest signings and a lot of people on the developmental brand are "on the clock" right now.

NXT have debuted a vast number of new talents over the last year, including the likes of Nikkita Lyons, Bron Breakker, Tiffany Stratton, Edris Enofe, Malik Blade, and Hank Walker.

Changes have also been made to NXT's TV presentation in recent weeks and a new logo was introduced that combined the black-and-gold and 2.0 eras. The brand is currently headed up by Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.
