Reason The Fiend Bray Wyatt's WWE Survivor Series 2019 Plans Changed

As announced on Friday Night Smackdown, The Fiend Bray Wyatt will be defending his, now blue, Universal Championship at Survivor Series against Daniel Bryan.

Both superstars appeared on Miz TV on Friday, and their previous feud from 2014 looks set to feature heavily. Having attacked Bryan on the 8 November edition of Smackdown, Wyatt explained The Fiend's actions "may have been to remind you about what you did" referring to when Bryan, having joined the Wyatt Family, turned on them only two weeks later. Their feud culminated at the Royal Rumble, with Wyatt emerging victorious. However, the match was somewhat overshadowed by WWE's failure to have the future WWE World Heavyweight Champion enter the Royal Rumble match at #30.

Although reports from Dave Meltzer and live event promotion suggested The Fiend would be facing The Miz at the upcoming pay-per-view, WWE decided to go with Bryan instead. Bryan's previous plans were also scrapped in which the former leader of the Yes Movement was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura on the 1 November edition of Smackdown, going on to face NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong and US Champion AJ Styles in a Triple Threat. Other matches announced for Survivor Series include:

• AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Roderick Strong
