Original WWE Plans For NXT Battleground Main Event Revealed
What were the original plans for NXT Battleground's main event?

NXT Battleground is heading to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada in two weeks on June 9, though the main event for the show has still not been announced. Despite originally teasing a match between the NXT Champion Trick Williams and Noam Dar, this story was put on the backburner as the Gallus faction attacked Williams on the most recent edition of NXT.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the feud between Williams and Dar was the original plan for NXT Battleground’s main event. It isn’t currently known whether or not this match will still be taking place after recent events and with Dar seemingly being taken off TV for some reason, though there is still time before the show for this match to be announced.
On next week’s NXT, Williams and new NXT standout Je’Von Evans will be in tag team action against Gallus, continuing this newly established rivalry.
