Asuka has come to the defence of Nia Jax and WWE's decision to re-sign the former Women's Tag Team Champion.

Nia Jax made her WWE return on the September 11 edition of Monday Night Raw, costing Raquel Rodriguez the win in her Women's World Championship match against Rhea Ripley. Jax then took out Ripley following the bell, with Raw going off the air following a Banzai Drop from Jax. Jax was reportedly re-signed by WWE over a month ago.

Jax's return received a mixed reaction on social media but Asuka defended her colleague after Wrestle Features asked fans if WWE had made the right choice by bringing back the former Raw Women's Champion.

"That question is rude and bullying. You're hurting her heart with this question. Are you really a person with a heart? If someone who has not been directly harmed by her denies her, I will fight the society for her. If I am criticized for it, I don't care," Asuka wrote.

Jax was criticised as an unsafe worker during her first run with WWE from 2014 until November 2021 and there were several incidents of Jax hurting other wrestlers, including Becky Lynch in 2018 and Kairi Sane in 2020.

Asuka further defended Jax from this criticism, noting that Kairi does not blame Jax for the 2020 injury that left her with a nasty cut.

"Wrestlers fight knowing that there is a possibility of injury. Kairi doesn't blame anyone for her injuries. She is not stupid. But are you a victim?" Asuka tweeted.

Jax said following her WWE release that she never intentionally hurt another talent.

Jax has been slotted in as the number two heel of the Raw women's division following her return. She looks set to challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship at October's Fastlane pay-per-view, possibly in a Triple Threat with Raquel Rodriguez.
