WWE have modified the Intercontinental Championship.
The previous design of the Intercontinental Title had been in place since 2019 but Jey Uso revealed on Monday's edition of Raw that modifications had been made to the belt. The new version of the title retained the 2019 design with added blue highlights, notably for the images of the world featured on the championship belt.
Past versions of the WWE Intercontinental Championship featured blue highlights, primarily to showcase the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean on the classic Intercontinental Title design and to display all of the oceans on Earth within the design used from the late 1990s until 2011.
The new version of the Intercontinental Championship was revealed only one week after Jey Uso won the title by defeating Bron Breakker on the September 23 edition of Monday Night Raw. The title was Uso's first singles belt in WWE and his WWE colleagues were thrilled for Uso after his victory.
Uso's win ended Bron Breakker's reign after just 51 days. The nephew of Scott Steiner only won the title from Sami Zayn at SummerSlam in decisive fashion on August 3.
