Naomi Was In Talks With WWE Over New Deal

Prior to her walking out of Monday Night Raw with Sasha Banks, Naomi was in talks with WWE over a new contract, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

"On Monday's show, I mentioned Trinity's contract. So, the deal is, and this was brought up to me as well, her contract, I guess it's expiring soon, but she was in negotiations for a new deal. It's possible that they might go with the idea that she's not leaving, no matter what. Her family's here and they don't feel the leverage they might have felt with a Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn, or someone where if we lowball them, they're going to leave. We have to give them a pretty big offer. In her case, maybe they wouldn't do it, but most people who are getting new deals are getting substantial raises," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

If Naomi and WWE are still in talks over a new deal is currently unknown but Meltzer noted the two-time SmackDown Women's Champion walking out likely won't help her in negotiations.

Naomi and Banks left the building during Monday's episode of Raw following a meeting with Vince McMahon about a contract situation and creative plans for the evening which would have de-emphasised the Women's Tag Team Championships. Naomi was scheduled to win a Six-Pack Challenge on the show ahead of losing a Raw Women's Title match to Bianca Belair at Hell In A Cell. Sasha Banks, meanwhile, would have lost her own title match to SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey.
