WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has called for Donald Trump to be removed from the Celebrity Wing of WWE's Hall of Fame.

The Hardcore Legend yesterday tweeted: "Today seems like a good day to remove Donald Trump from the #WWEHOF", seemingly in reaction to the ongoing hearing into the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the United States Capitol.

This is not the first time Foley has suggested Trump should be removed from the WWE Hall of Fame.

On January 6 of last year, the former WWE Champion wrote on Twitter: "Hey Vince - how about throwing this sorry son of a bitch out of our Hall of Fame?", while also tagging Vince McMahon's Twitter account in the message.

Trump and WWE/Vince McMahon have a long history together. The former President sponsored WrestleManias IV and V and was famously involved in the Battle of the Billionaires at WrestleMania 23, where his representative Bobby Lashley beat Vince McMahon's representative Umaga, leading to the WWE CEO's head being shaved bald.

The event, promoted primarily around the Battle of the Billionaires, drew a then-record pay-per-view buyrate for the company.

Incidentally, Trump and Foley were both inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the same year, as members of the class of 2013.

Trump was personally inducted by Vince McMahon.
