Steve Bryant at SoCal UNCENSOREDreported that Mercedes Martinez had signed with WWE and would report to the WWE Performance Center, indicating she would be appearing on the company's black and gold brand.
Yesterday, Martinez confirmed she had indeed signed with the company,
tweeting:"See that SMILE??!!! who says dreams cant become a reality?!! I worked for this moment for 19yrs!! I'm where I'm SUPPOSED to be at this moment in time. Sacrifice, determination, hardwork, motivation, & staying humble got me here. THANK YOU."
WWE did not wait long to announce when we can expect The Latina Sensation in the ring.
Ryan Satin confirmed on WWE Backstagelast night that Martinez will be one of the entrants in the number one contender's battle royal to determine who will face Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Portland.
She will face off against Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green, Dakota Kai, Vanessa Borne, Kayden Carter, Mia Yim, Santana Garrett, Io Shirai, Shotzi Blackheart, and Xia Li.
After finding out the news,
Martinez wrote: "Im always READY for any opportunities that arises."
