When Bullet Club was at the peak of its popularity under AJ Styles and later Kenny Omega’s reigns, they were arguably the hottest thing in pro wrestling, with Bullet Club tees visible at every wrestling show you could think of.

The sheer amount of BC tees at WWE events caught Vince McMahon’s eye, and according to Matt Hardy on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, McMahon wanted to sign the entire group to WWE:

“When this Bullet Club phenomenon was happening, and they were selling all this merch, I mean, obviously, it was on Vince’s radar,” said Hardy. “There was one point where Vince said, ‘All these shirts, they keep showing up at our shows, these Bullet Club shirts, who are these people? Who are these people? Where are they from?’ ‘It’s this real hot act. They’re from New Japan; sometimes they come over and do Ring of Honor stuff,’ and Vince said, ‘I want them. I want them all.’ He got a lot of the Bullet Club, but he didn’t get them all.”

WWE would end up signing Bullet Club’s AJ Styles and The Good Brothers, with BC founder Prince Devitt and later Adam Cole joining WWE NXT, whilst other prominent Bullet Club members Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, and Adam Page formed AEW.
