Logan Paul Becomes United States Champion At WWE Crown Jewel
Logan Paul wins the United States Title at WWE Crown Jewel
Nov 4, 2023
The United States of America have a new champion to look up to and his name is Logan Paul.
Rey Mysterio defended the United States Championship against Logan Paul at today's WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The expectation heading into the match was that Paul would win and that was indeed the case.
The match was even throughout but the brass knuckles were important once again for the challenger. Logan Paul initially spilled the knucks to the outside after they were placed on his fingers by a crony. After Santos Escobar chased away the crony, though, the brass knuckles somehow ended back on Paul's fingers.
The YouTuber then put the weapon to good advantage, levelling Rey Mysterio with a Haymaker as he went for his post-619 Frog Splash. That was enough to score the win as the referee countered the 1-2-3. Mysterio then took issue with the manner of his defeat post-match but Paul said he won fair and square before declaring his love for Rey.
Mysterio's loss ends his title reign at 85 days. He captured the United States Title for the third time on August 11, defeating Austin Theory. He recorded two successful title defences, first in a rematch with Austin Theory at Payback before Mysterio defeated his Latino World Order faction mate Santos Escobar on the September 29 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Logan Paul has been an in-ring talent in WWE since WrestleMania 38 in April 2022. He has so far faced the likes of The Miz, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns. Paul actually faced Rey Mysterio in his in-ring debut, teaming with The Miz to defeat Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
