For the first time since 2022, Liv Morgan is a singles champion in WWE.

Morgan challenged Becky Lynch for the Women's World Championship in the opening contest of King and Queen of the Ring. Dominik Mysterio promised to prevent Liv Morgan from becoming the champion on the pre-show but he ultimately failed in that task as he passed a steel chair to Becky Lynch in the closing moments of the title match.

As Dom distracted the official, though, Liv Morgan followed up with a DDT to Becky Lynch on the steel chair. One Oblivion later and the referee counted the 1-2-3 to crown Liv Morgan as the new Women's World Champion.

Morgan's win ended Lynch's reign as Women's World Champion at 33 days. Lynch won the vacant title on April 22 in a Battle Royal, last eliminating Liv. Rhea Ripley had held the Women's World Championship for a year but she was forced to relinquish the championship due to a shoulder injury that was caused by a backstage attack from Liv Morgan.

While Dominik Mysterio promised to stop Morgan from leaving Saudi Arabia with the Women's World Title, there will be questions about his true motives as he has been spotted speaking to Liv Morgan in the background of Raw segments over the past several weeks.

Becky Lynch's WWE future is also up in the air as her contract is set to expire within days.
