Keith Lee Relinquishes WWE NXT North American Championship

On Monday, William Regal revealed he would be making a major announcement on this week's episode of NXT. The former Intercontinental Champion then teased he was stepping down as General Manager of WWE's third brand as he tweeted: "Serving as the General Manager or #WWENXT has been an incredible honor. To see the men and women of this brand over the last couple of months has been inspiring and invigorating. Tonight’s major announcement will be yet another step forward for @WWENXT."

This wasn't the case, however, as Regal quickly handed over to Keith Lee who announced he would be relinquishing the NXT North American Championship. The Limitless One said he wanted to dedicate his time to defending the NXT Championship and didn't want to be a limiting factor on another Superstar who could move to the next level by holding the North American Title.

Regal then announced a series of Triple Threat matches will be held in the coming weeks and the victors will face off in a Ladder match at NXT TakeOver: XXX on August 22 to crown a new champion. One Superstar has already advanced to the championship bout as Bronson Reed defeated Roderick Strong and Johnny Gargano last night.
