Jinder Mahal Returns On WWE Raw

Jinder Mahal hasn't wrestled on Monday Night Raw since April 1, 2019, when he was defeated by Apollo Crews in a Lumberjack match. The Modern Day Mahajara underwent surgery on a ruptured patellar tendon back in June and has spent the last 10 months on the sidelines.

Now, Mahal is back as he made his return on last night's episode of Raw. His spell on the injury list seemingly did Jinder the world of good as he put in a dominant performance against Akira Tozawa, annihilating the former Cruiserweight Champion in 95 seconds.

This suggests Mahal will be presented as a top-tier heel, similar to his stint as WWE Champion in 2017. He could even pursue the world title as he does have a history with current champion Drew McIntyre.

However, to establish Mahal as a challenger for the world title, he will have to receive more consistent booking on Raw. After losing the WWE Championship to AJ Styles in November 2017, Jinder remained competitive in the mid-card and captured the United States title at WrestleMania 34. However, after losing the belt to Jeff Hardy, he did little of note before he underwent surgery.
