History Made With Last Night's WWE SmackDown
WWE continues to set new records
Nov 25, 2023
WWE SmackDown aired from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, the same arena which will host the Survivor Series 2023 premium live event later tonight.
The last update per the WrestleTix X account was that SmackDown had sold upwards of 16,000 tickets for the show last night, which is a huge number compared to other weekly television episodes of WWE programming. Of course, a big portion of the crowd will be in town for Survivor Series, with WWE selling combo tickets for both shows, but it is still a mightily impressive figure either way. In fact, last night’s episode of SmackDown was a history-making one.
Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful on X, “Tonight's SmackDown in Chicago is WWE's highest-grossing non-PLE in market history.” WWE has been breaking a whole manner of these records across 2023 - in the UK, Puerto Rico, and in individual markets throughout the United States too. With boosts in WWE viewership and the rise of ticket prices over the years due to inflation, WWE is hitting some of its highest numbers ever.
