Gran Metalik has reportedly asked WWE to let him out of his contract.

A report fromMas Lucha suggests that Metalik has asked to depart WWE over dissatisfaction with the way has been utilised during his time with the promotion.

The Lucha House Party member's contract expires in 2023 and has been seriously considering asking WWE for his release for a little while, according to the report.

A lack of opportunities within WWE and no clear direction for Metalik have also been cited as part of the reason why he is looking to move on.

Metalik - known as Máscara Dorada during his time in CMLL - initially only signed up with WWE to work the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016, reaching the Final of the tournament before losing out to TJ Perkins.

Metalik then worked in the cruiserweight division until 2018, when he was linked up with Kalisto and Lince Dorado in the Lucha House Party. The trio was separated during the 2020 WWE Draft, with Kalisto being put on SmackDown before subsequently being released from his contract.

Metalik is a former WWE 24/7 Champion.
