Despite not wrestling since early 2022, Goldberg is still hoping to have an official retirement match, with the WWE Hall of Famer looking to bring the curtain down on a gold laden career.

The WCW legend was a guest on Busted Open Radio and said the following when asked if he wants one more match:

“Oh, man, I’d love to, dude - 100 percent,” Goldberg said. “But I have to get my torn rotator cuff taken care of finally.”

Goldberg continued, noting how he picked up the injury during his WWE return feud with Brock Lesnar in 2016, but kept it secret as he was only wrestling sparingly:

“I ain’t doing s*** until I get that done,” Goldberg continued. “And that’s hopefully coming up — I’m doing stem cells here soon and then I’m going to see if surgery is needed. But yeah, man, I’d love to have one more match. You know how it is. Vince [McMahon] and I spoke about it. He gave me his word, but all that stuff happened, and, hey, man, I don’t hold grudges. Vince gave me so many opportunities, man, I’ll be forever grateful. But yeah, I would absolutely love to have that final match. I would. Am I good not having it? Yeah, I’m fine with it. But it’d be neat to have one.”

Goldberg was in conversation with All Elite Wrestling about a potential run, but talks allegedly petered out in early 2024.
