With reports that Cody Rhodes has re-signed with WWE and is expected to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38, it’s now seemingly just a matter of time until Rhodes makes his eagerly awaited re-debut in a WWE ring.

However, there has been plenty of discussion as to how Rhodes will be presented, with WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco suggesting on AdFreeShows Monday Mailbag that Cody should rock the classic Rhodes polka dots upon his return:

“Damn right I do,” Brisco said. “Wouldn’t that be great? That’s great, I like that. Why not Cody? Go for it, if you got them, go for it. Polka dots? Wear them. I think it’s fantastic [that he’s coming back], I think that’s probably where he belongs and I think that’s where he felt he belongs.

“The other organisation is a great organisation, I think Tony [Khan] has done one heck of a job so far. I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff but I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff that is going on on the other side either. But yeah, I’m happy for Cody, that’s where he wants to be, that’s home and everybody wants to go home. So congratulations.”

Cody’s father the legendary Dusty Rhodes wore polka dots upon debuting with WWE in 1989, with many seeing it as a rib or even a form of a put-down by Vince McMahon, as he had taken one of the NWA’s biggest stars and presented to the world that 'The Son of a Plumber' was nothing more than a dancing polka dot loving fool.
