Gable Steveson out of a job

Gable Steveson's NFL career is now on hold after the Olympic gold medallist was cut by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday as the team looked to finalise their 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season. Steveson may still end up being signed to the practice squad but that hasn't happened as of yet.
Steveson signed with the Buffalo Bills in May as a defensive lineman. He played in the Bills' three preseason games but he was considered a long shot to make the final roster due to his lack of experience in American football.
Steveson joined the Buffalo Bills only a few weeks after his release from WWE. Steveson had been a part of the company since 2021 and he was a much-publicised addition to the roster. Plans were in place for Steveson to receive a major push but Steveson failed to impress during his development. When he eventually made his in-ring debut against Baron Corbin at NXT Great American Bash in the Summer of 2023 the match was widely panned as one of the worst of the year.
The decision was made in May to release Steveson as he was on a big contract and he simply "wasn't cutting it" as a pro wrestler.
Whether Steveson will continue to pursue American football or turn to MMA or amateur wrestling is unknown.
