Former WWE Tag Team Set To Reunite

Several years on from their final matches together, a former WWE tag team is set to reunite.

Matt Rehwoldt hasn't wrestled since May 2022 but the IMPACT Wrestling announcer revealed in recent days that he would be taking limited bookings through the end of 2023. Not only that but Rehwoldt has revealed that he and Simon Gotch will reunite to reform The Vaudevillains.

Simon Gotch has since tweeted: "For those that missed it, @DramaKingMatt and myself are currently accepting bookings as a team for the first time in 6 years. Book us before we pull a Disney Vault and disappear for another 5 years."

The Vaudevillains were a tag team in WWE from 2014 until 2017 when the company and Simon Gotch came to terms on his release. Rehwoldt (then wrestling as Aiden English) and Gotch enjoyed success in WWE NXT, holding the NXT Tag Team Titles for 61 days in 2015. The team moved to the main roster in 2016, with their last match as a team taking place on April 4, 2017 when they lost to American Alpha in a dark match ahead of a SmackDown taping.

Since his release, Gotch has primarily wrestled on the indies but he has also had runs in Major League Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH. Rehwoldt, meanwhile, went on to form Rusev Day with Rusev before transitioning to commentary. Rehwoldt was released by WWE in April 2020 and he signed with IMPACT Wrestling the following year, initially as a wrestler, before he joined Tom Hannifan at the announce table in January 2022.
