Former WWE Superstar Erick Rowan's New Ring Name Revealed
He didn't look very far for inspiration...
May 14, 2020
Back on April 15, WWE released 36 Superstars including Erick Rowan, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Rusev, Cain Velasquez, and Sarah Logan. The releases came after the company announced they would be making cutbacks because of the coronavirus pandemic, despite estimates showing WWE is still on course to make record profits in 2020.
Rowan has remained fairly quiet since being let go, but the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion resurfaced yesterday with a new ring name and Pro Wrestling Tees store. The former Bludgeon Brother didn't look very far for inspiration as he is now known as Erick RedBeard.
RedBeard has also used some of his old WWE storylines as inspiration for merchandise. One t-shirt includes two gravestones, one for himself, and another for the spider which was viciously murdered by Drew McIntyre on the March 9 episode of Monday Night Raw. Shirts emblazoned with the Wyatt Family sheep mask are also available, which again pokes fun at the fact he carried a cage to the ring for months and later revealed an animatronic spider was inside.
