Former WWE Referee Tim White Passes Away

Former WWE referee Tim White has passed away aged 68.

A popular presence on WWE TV from the 80s through to the mid-2000s, White performed referee duties on a part-time basis during from start of his run in 1985, whilst also working as Andre the Giant’s real-life manager and associate outside of the ring.

After Andre’s passing in 1993, White turned to refereeing full-time, notably calling the action for the infamous Hell in a Cell match between Mankind and The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998. White would continue in his refereeing duties until suffering a shoulder injury in 2002, with the injury forcing his in-ring retirement in 2004.

White continued to work for WWE after retiring from refereeing, appearing in several controversial sketches in 2005/2006, whilst working as a backstage official and talent agent amongst other roles, before being released in January 2009 after a 24-year run with the company.

White continued to provide security for WWE Superstars at numerous autograph and meet-and-greet sessions after his release, and appeared on several WWE produced shows and documentaries.
