Former NXT Tag Team Champions To Reunite At Worlds Collide
The battle of the beards!
Jan 16, 2020
Worlds Collide will be broadcast live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on January 25th as stars from NXT and NXT UK go head to head. In recent weeks, both brands have been filling out the card and so far, WWE has announced Finn Balor vs. Ilja Dragunov, Rhea Ripley vs. Toni Storm for the NXT Women's Championship, and The Undisputed ERA vs. Imperium in an Eight-Man Tag Team match.
On last night's episode of NXT, Tommaso Ciampa cut a promo in the middle of the ring where he promised he was going to get Goldie back from Adam Cole. The Undisputed ERA did not take too kindly to Ciampa's declaration, as they swarmed the ring and beat down The Sicilian Psychopath.
Ciampa was not left helpless for long, as Johnny Gargano quickly ran to the ring and saved his former tag team partner. After Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong and Adam Cole were tossed to the outside, only Bobby Fish remained in the ring as he nursed his neck. Ciampa and Gargano then looked at each other and instinctively knew what they should do. Moments later, Fish was on the receiving end of a Meeting In The Middle.
Following #DIY's short reunion,
Trent Seven tweeted:"See @JohnnyGargano and @NXTCiampa are mates again @Tyler_Bate...Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could stay mates long enough to fight us? Moustache Mountain vs #DIY? What do you say @RealKingRegal? Possibly #WorldsCollide?"
Later in the show, Gargano and Ciampa met up outside. Johnny Wrestling then acknowledged Seven's tweet and asked his former partner if they should reform #DIY "for old times sake." After thinking for a few moments, Ciampa agreed.
With that, announcer Mauro Ranallo confirmed #DIY will face Moustache Mountain at Worlds Collide.
