Eric Bischoff has revealed he helped to initiate conversations between Jim Ross and TNA Wrestling about a move to the promotion for the legendary announcer.

Bischoff has previously remarked about how he wanted to bring JR to TNA in 2011, during his time as executive producer of the promotion, providing the iconic play-by-player commentator's contact details to Dixie Carter.

The 2021 WWE Hall Of Famer has now said that conversations between the two parties did happen, and ultimately Ross himself opted not to sign with TNA.

Speaking as part of his 83 Weeks Podcast, Bischoff said: "It wasn’t a rumour with Jim Ross. I was part of the conversation, and I think I was the one that gave Jim’s contact information to Dixie. It was a real conversation, and I may have initiated that conversation to a certain degree and fully supportive of it.

"It didn’t work out, and Jim ultimately decided not to join TNA. I think Jim even made a trip to the ranch in Texas to meet Bob and Janice Carter. That’s how serious it got."
