Edge has secured a new role outside of WWE.

The WWE Hall of Famer has been cast in the upcoming Disney+ series 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians.' Edge will be a recurring character in the series as Ares, the god of war. His character is "handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes." Variety first reported the casting and it was later confirmed by Edge himself.

Edge does have experience acting, having appeared in movies and TV shows during his nine years in retirement from professional wrestling. He had recurring roles in Vikings and Haven, while also appearing in movies like Money Plane and Interrogation.

'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' is scheduled to be released in 2024. The series logline is as follows:

"'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who's just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus."

Edge is currently locked in a feud with The Judgment Day on WWE TV. He was not present on this week's episode of Raw, though, which took place only two days after his loss in an 'I Quit' Match to Finn Balor. Edge quit after Rhea Ripley threatened to hit his wife Beth Phoenix with a con-chair-to. Ripley ultimately did it anyway after Edge's loss.
