WWE Referee Drake Wuertz was not featured on yesterday's edition of NXT because he attended a school board meeting for Seminole County Public Schools instead.

During the meeting, Wuertz took to the podium and argued the superintendent should repeal the face mask mandate in the county and once again cited the conspiracy theory that "masks play into the hands of the predators that want to prey upon our children."

Wuertz also said children wearing face masks are "victims of tyrannical overreach" before he proclaimed that the face mask mandate was a matter of parental rights and against the wishes of God. Wuertz then ended his speech with a Donald Trump quote.

Wuertz's attendance at the meeting comes two weeks after he zoomed into a Seminole County Board of County Commissioners meeting in full WWE apparel and claimed "forcing and normalising face coverings only makes it easier for sex traffickers to target kids."

If WWE will comment on Wuertz's attendance remains to be seen, but multiple WWE Superstars and staff believe the company should now step in, according to PWInsider. The referee's views have previously landed him in hot water with the organisation and he was suspended by WWE earlier this year.
