Dolph Ziggler's famous World Heavyweight Championship victory on the night after WrestleMania 29 almost didn't happen.

Ziggler captured the World Heavyweight Title Money In The Bank briefcase in 2012 and he held on to the contract until the Raw after 'Mania when he cashed in on Alberto Del Rio. The Show Off received a huge pop from the crowd in the Izod Center and the noise only increased after he caught Del Rio with a Zig Zag and pinned the champion to win the gold.

Ziggler has revealed he wasn't originally supposed to successfully cash in, though.

"I wasn't supposed to be World Heavyweight Champion. I was told I wouldn't be World Heavyweight Champion. I was told, 'If you cash this in, it's just for the moment, and we'll see later.' The crowds made that a special moment," Ziggler told Sportskeeda.

If Ziggler had failed against Del Rio, he would have been the first person in WWE history to unsuccessfully cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase. Damien Sandow would instead earn the cursed accolade later in the year when he failed to defeat John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship.
