Cristiano Ronaldo Set To Miss WWE Crown Jewel Despite Grayson Waller Tease
No Cristiano Ronaldo at WWE Crown Jewel
Nov 3, 2023
Despite a tease from Grayson Waller, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss out on an appearance at WWE's Crown Jewel pay-per-view on Saturday, November 4.
Waller took to Twitter this week and took aim at Ronaldo, tweeting, "Soccer is a mediocre 'sport'. No idea why people praise this flop so much," alongside a GIF of the former UEFA Champions League winner playing for Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the first high-profile name to move to Saudi Arabia as part of the aggressive expansion of the Saudi Pro League in 2023 that has seen the likes of Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, and Jordan Henderson head to the Middle East. As part of his rumoured €200 million a year salary, Ronaldo serves as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia.
Rumours earlier this year had claimed WWE were working on a Ronaldo appearance at Crown Jewel but the Al-Nassr player is set to be across the city in Riyadh. Al-Nassr is set to play Al-Khaleej in a Saudi Pro League fixture on Saturday night at the same time as Crown Jewel. Unless Ronaldo plans to skip the warm-up, he won't be able to appear at WWE Crown Jewel.
Grayson Waller is rumoured for a segment at WWE Crown Jewel 2023, with it being noted an appearance from Waller was under consideration.
