Cody Rhodes Tells 2K Not To Put Him On The Cover Of WWE 2K25 If He Hasn't Completed The Story By Then

Cody Rhodes has joked that 2K shouldn't put him on the cover of WWE 2K25 if he hasn't finished the story by then.

Cody's mantra of "finish the story" indicated to many a guaranteed victory over Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 39. Instead, the Tribal Chief closed the show by retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

This year, with Cody announced as the cover star of WWE 2K24 (and still vowing to right the wrongs of 2023) he spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated:

"If I haven’t finished the story by WWE 2K25, don’t bring me back for the commercial. Don’t put me on the cover, don’t put me anywhere near it. I won’t deserve it. But it’s fun that this is happening in real time, and we all get to experience it together."

Cody also talked about looking ahead to WrestleMania 40, set to take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 6 and 7.

"I’m looking at WrestleMania 40 - in my favorite city to wrestle, right next to Wells Fargo Center, where the fans decided to get behind me at a random Money in the Bank - wrestling in front of fans from all over the world, that’s a good place to be. It’s going to be special. I’m looking forward to celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania, especially because it’s in Philly."
