CM Punk Reveals Final Conversation He Had With Vince McMahon

CM Punk’s WWE return at Survivor Series 2023 was a shock for many reasons, but most notably due to his strained relationship with former WWE owner Vince McMahon.

McMahon famously fired Punk on his wedding day in 2014, and had Punk escorted from the building when the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’ visited WWE Raw in 2023. During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, Punk was asked about his last interaction with McMahon, with Punk sharing the following:

“I was in there, and I was on the phone on the treadmill warming up. And Vince’s trainers [say] ‘Hey, you’ve got to get off the phone. Vince doesn’t like it when people are on the phone in the gym… And then I saw him walking down into the gym. He came in for his daily workout. He gave me a big hug. He said ‘Welcome home. Good to see you. Let’s connect after I work out.’ I said alright. Haven’t seen him since,” said Punk.

McMahon resigned from WWE parent company TKO after assault allegations were levelled at him by former employee Janel Grant. CM Punk commented on the allegations during his conversation with Helwani.
