"There was no promo. That was Ashley Fliehr talking to Richard Fliehr."

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has hailed the work done by Charlotte Flair and Ric Flair in their backstage segment on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw.
Following a tag team match which pitted Flair and Asuka against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, The Queen cut a tearful promo on her father, thanking him for his help in making it into the WWE but asking him to go home and leave her to forge her own legacy in the company.
The segment seemed to hint at the end of the ongoing rivalry between Charlotte, her father, and Lacey Evans, and Ray - known as Bubba Ray Dudley during his time in WWE - believes the promo showed the multi-time WWE Women's Champion at her best.
He also speculated that there were 'shoot' elements within the segment, which gave it the feeling of real life playing in front of the audiences' eyes.
Speaking on Busted Open on Tuesday, Bully Ray said: “That was as real as real gets last night. There was no promo. That was Ashley Fliehr talking to Richard Fliehr. Straight up shoot, brother. How are you not into it?
"In the past 48 hours, you saw Sasha Banks put Charlotte Flair over on the ‘Broken Skull Sessions,’ and last night you saw Charlotte lay it out there for her dad and be completely honest and vulnerable. At the end of everything, she may have come on a little strong, but she said, ‘Dad. I appreciate you, everything you’ve done for me and I love you.’
"She wanted to end it on a positive note. If you can’t see her in a different light or you can’t move away from the hatred of this women then I don’t know what will ever do it for you.
"Charlotte Flair was a general last night. She made all those women work up last night. She was all business in that ring. Don’t even watch the punches and the chops, watch her face. Look at the intent in her eyes. She’s a workhorse that has been forced to work down lately.”
