Big E Reveals He Pushed For Dream Goldberg Match At WWE Crown Jewel 2021

Big E has revealed that he tried to 'make some noise' in WWE about facing Goldberg at WWE Crown Jewel 2021.

Big E has spoken at length about his love for Goldberg and how he, during his time in WCW, was responsible for the New Day member becoming enamoured with wrestling. The WWE Champion has often named the WWE Hall Of Famer as his dream match.

Having claimed the Title and with Goldberg returning to WWE for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia last month, E has now revealed that he pushed backstage to have his dream match with the icon at the Saudi show.

Speaking in an interview with SportsNet, Big E said: "I think the cool thing for me is that there are so many fresh matchups because I have not been in that top role. We’ve been in a top act in many ways (with the New Day) but there are so many singles matchups out there that are fresh for me.

"I was trying to make some noise for this Goldberg match at Crown Jewel, but that clearly (didn’t happen). It would have been really full circle. He was my childhood hero and idol, and I’ve spoken effusively about that."
