Back at WrestleMania 36, Becky Lynch defended the Raw Women's Championship against Shayna Baszler. Many expected The Queen Of Spades to leave The Showcase Of The Immortals with the title, but it wasn't to be as Lynch countered the Kirifuda Clutch into a pin to pick up the victory.

The Man has since announced she is pregnant and relinquished the Raw Women's Title while Baszler hasn't been on WWE TV since May 18.

Lynch was a recent guest on The Bellas Podcast and revealed she pitched to drop the title to Baszler at 'Mania but plans changed and she was ultimately booked to retain the belt.

The Irish Lass Kicker said: "So, we started trying (to have a baby) and I just thought it would take a long time, and it didn't. We were super lucky, it happened before I would have expected and I was still the champ at the time. Which I actually thought I was going to lose the title at WrestleMania, which I also pitched, but that's neither here nor there. You know, plans change."

Past reports have noted that Becky retained her title at 'Mania so WWE could extend the storyline into the summer. The company's original plans for Money In The Bank 2020 would have seen Lynch defeat Nia Jax while Baszler was booked to win the Money In the Bank Ladder match.

The former NXT Women's Champion would have then been positioned as The Man's main rival as the wrestling behemoth built towards SummerSlam. With Lynch's pregnancy, however, plans changed and Asuka won the Money In The Bank briefcase because WWE wanted the Raw Women's Champion to be a babyface.
