Could WWE head to the Republic of Ireland for a major stadium show?
Speaking with Mark Andrews on My Love Letter to Wrestling, Becky Lynch revealed she has been asked about running a stadium show in Ireland and she told whoever asked - believed to be WWE - that the RDS Arena would be a good venue.
"We were just talking about that. Yes, I gave the venue and all, the RDS, we can have one. I don't know that we have the population to sustain it, but I think when you have the UK and Europe so close, absolutely," Lynch said.
RDS Arena is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Dublin, Ireland and is primarily used as the home of Leinster Rugby, the rugby union side in the United Rugby Championship. The arena has hosted professional wrestling in the past, notably a WWE SmackDown house show in the summer of 2005. Over 22,000 people were in attendance at the show that was headlined by a WWE Title Triple Threat between John Cena, JBL, and Kurt Angle with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee.
WWE held a stadium show just across the Irish Sea in 2022 as Clash at the Castle emanated from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales in September of last year. WWE will return to the UK on July 1 for Money in the Bank at The O2 in London, England.
All Elite Wrestling will also make their UK debut later this year with All In set to be held at Wembley Stadium on August 27.
