Aleister Black On Why Vince McMahon Scrapped His WWE United States Title Win

While Andrade ultimately dropped the United States Championship to Apollo Crews back in May 2020, that wasn't always the plan and Zelina Vega revealed back in November that El Idolo was initially booked to lose the gold to Aleister Black.

Those plans were obviously scrapped and Black was released by WWE yesterday along with five other Superstars.

The former NXT Champion took to Twitch following his release and he revealed Vince McMahon nixed his planned United States Title win because the boss didn't want him to win the championship in front of no fans.

"There was a moment where I was supposed to win, I think it was the US Title, but then Vince's consensus was I don't want to have him win his first title in front of no audience. So there was always good stuff. There's a lot of good stories, a lot of almost happened moments, so I can't be negative," Black said.

Black's release brought his WWE run to an end after five years. During his time with the company, he enjoyed one reign as NXT Champion. He was also the winner of the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Ricochet.
