WWE Hall of Famer Jake 'The Snake' Roberts has revealed that he is currently suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a form of lung disease.

Roberts, who is signed to All Elite Wrestling and is the manager of Lance Archer, shared the news during an interview on the Premier Live TV YouTube channel.

He had previously alluded to ill health on Twitter.

During the interview, Roberts (who was hooked up to an oxygen supply) disclosed that he was recently unable to stop coughing and couldn't breathe, which led to him being hospitalised for a few days.

The Snake told the host that: "What I got is worse than COVID. It’s something that was passed down to me through the bloodline. It’s not your happy camper stuff".

Additionally, Roberts said that he doesn't get the right amount of oxygen into his blood and is unsure how it will limit him going forward, since he cannot speak for more than 20 seconds without the help of an oxygen tank.

The 65-year-old did, however, have a lot of praise for AEW and how they have treated him and the rest of the roster when it comes to health issues:

"The thing that I'm happiest about is that I'm in AEW and they actually give a damn. It's really wild. They actually care about the athletes, they actually get us the help that we need. They actually set up protocols so us dumbass wrestlers don't say 'hey, I'm okay, I can get in there' and have one arm missing. Wrestlers just don't quit. We don't quit. We don't quit, man. I can't, you know? That's what losers do. But these guys are smart enough to protect us from ourselves".
