Wardlow On His AEW Rise Mirroring Batista In Evolution
There are certainly similarities between the rise of Wardlow in AEW and Batista's WWE rise in 2005

Wardlow’s rise in AEW has been one of the promotion’s best storylines of 2022, with ‘Mr Mayhem’ turning his back on employer MJF at Revolution in March before engaging in a feud with ‘The Salt of the Earth’.
The two are finally set to wrestle each other at AEW Double or Nothing - should Wardlow defeat Shawn Spears in a cage on the May 25 Dynamite - and fans have noticed a similarity to Wardlow’s rise up against MJF to that of Batista and Triple H in 2005.
The comparisons are not lost on Wardlow, who said the following to CBS Sports:
"The crazy thing [is] that we did without even realising it," Wardlow said. "We kind of mirrored it in a way. It was very different, but also the same. The crazy thing is this wasn't my idea. I didn't have any say so in this. It just organically happened. My career just seems to be mimicking a little bit of a Batista's. You can compare The Pinnacle to Evolution and you can compare myself and Max to Triple H [and] Batista. It has really unfolded very similar to how that did. It's a real special thing because we didn't plan it that way.”
