The upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26 might not be the only event All Elite Wrestling and NJPW host together.
Speaking with Comicbook, Tony Khan admitted the hope is Forbidden Door will become an annual event between both promotions.
"Yeah. I think we are hoping that's what it'll become," he said.
The AEW President also discussed planning the event's card with NJPW Booker Gedo and Khan compared it to the moment in the movie Crimson Tide when Denzel Washington receives the missile key.
So far, an Interim AEW World Title match between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi has been booked for Forbidden Door. The match had to be made after AEW World Champion CM Punk suffered a broken foot. Moxley defeated Kyle O'Reilly to earn a spot at Forbidden Door, while Hiroshi Tanahashi pinned Hirooki Goto at Dominion on June 12. The inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion will also be crowned at Forbidden Door.
Other matches have been teased for the event, including a Winner Take All Match between ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR, IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan, and Roppongi Vice.
