After months of negotiations, The Elite opted to re-sign with All Elite Wrestling on new multi-year deals. The exact details of the contracts are unknown but it is believed the Young Bucks signed a historic deal with Tony Khan's promotion.
The Elite didn't have to remain with AEW, though, and reports noted there was interest from WWE in Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. The quartet agreed they would remain together for their next deals and votes did go back and forth until all agreed to put pen to paper on new contracts with All Elite Wrestling.
Appearing on the Swerve City Podcast, The Young Bucks detailed the voting process of choosing between AEW and WWE.
"We didn't know. I don’t read any of it, but I know [people] are thinking oh, how surprising The Elite re-signed. Bro, we didn't even know if we were going to re-sign...we all negotiated together as a team. The votes did not line up every time. There were a lot of emotions in the last year, as the world knows, so one day this person's voting to leave, this person's voting to go. We weren't even on the same page the whole time," Matt Jackson said.
Nick Jackson even revealed the quartet almost split, with Matt Jackson considering retirement over wrestling for AEW or WWE at one point until Nick talked him out of it.
Following their re-signing, The Young Bucks look set to challenge FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at All In. Kenny Omega and Hangman Page's plans for the Wembley Stadium show have yet to be revealed.
