With HOOK standing as the new FTW Champion, and after Powerhouse Hobbs turned on Ricky Starks, Taz revealed on commentary during AEW Dynamite that officially Team Taz is no more.

Taz later paid tribute to his former charges on Twitter, and said the following:

“This is not a sad thing, this is a good thing… Hobbs, Hook, Starks, all three of these men will kick ass and flourish in their own way, I firmly believe that… I want them to have their time and that’s just how I believe and it worked for my group to have a ‘manager,’ I’m not one of these guys who has to chirp, chirp, chirp with the guys. I’m a broadcaster, I’m a commentator, I’m not a manager, I can do it obviously but my main role is a colour analyst, that’s what I do,” said Taz.

Team Taz was founded in 2020 when Taz recruited Brian Cage, with the group becoming official after Starks joined in July 2020. Hobbs followed suit in November 2020, and HOOK started appearing with the group in December 2020, becoming massively popular with AEW fans due to his laidback attitude, and penchant for eating crisps and looking moody.
