Tony Khan hasn't officially detailed his plans but reports over the past several weeks have suggested that All Elite Wrestling will introduce a roster split of some sort when Collision debuts on Saturday, June 17. Reports have varied from a soft to a hard brand split, while others have stated that AEW's plans are constantly changing and will continue to change beyond the premiere episode of Collision.

In the latest update on the situation, Fightful Select has reported that AEW talent were informed over Double or Nothing weekend that Collision may begin as a soft brand split before developing into a harder roster split. Talent weren't told any specifics, however.

The roster split is expected to be introduced to avoid the locker room tensions that plagued the promotion during the summer of 2022 and culminated with a backstage fight between CM Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite following the All Out pay-per-view in September of last year.

Punk is scheduled to make his AEW return on the debut episode of Collision and other names set to be headliners on Collision are Samoa Joe, Andrade El Idolo, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Miro. The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club, meanwhile, are expected to be headliners on Dynamite.
